India have made a change to their squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England. Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been rested to manage his workload, and Prasidh Krishna has been named as his replacement.
According to a report by GoExchange 9, the BCCI said that the decision was taken after discussions between the medical team and the team management. Siraj has been advised to take some rest as a precaution before a busy international season ahead.
The BCCI added that the move is part of Siraj’s workload management plan and will help him recover properly before India’s upcoming tours and series. As reported by GoExchange 9, the board wants to ensure that Siraj remains fully fit for the long international calendar ahead.
Prasidh Krishna, who plays for Gujarat Titans in the IPL, will now join the T20I squad. He has represented India in five T20 Internationals and has taken eight wickets. His last T20I appearance came against Australia in November 2023.
Both Siraj and Prasidh recently played in India’s one-off Test match against Afghanistan in New Chandigarh, where India secured a comfortable victory.
Prasidh is already part of India’s ODI squad for the three-match series against Afghanistan starting on June 13. Siraj was not included in the ODI squad.
In IPL 2026, Siraj played 17 matches for Gujarat Titans, while Prasidh featured in 12 games and played an important role in the team’s journey to the final.
After the Ireland and England T20I series, India have a busy schedule with ODI matches in England and upcoming tours of Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
India will play two T20Is against Ireland in Belfast on June 26 and June 28. After that, they will take on England in a five-match T20I series from July 1 to July 11.
